“With its strong and far-reaching traditions, the Foundation for Economic Education is in a prime position to support the success of Finnish business and industry through academic expertise,” says Timo Löyttyniemi, Chairman of the Board of The Foundation for Economic Education.

Finnish business thrives most when it is closely connected to high-quality research and education in business studies. On this premise, The Foundation for Economic Education began its work in the early 1900s, and we remain committed to that same clear mission today. Each year, the Foundation awards approximately five million euros in grants for research in business studies. By safeguarding high-quality scientific work, we can also help ensure that new knowledge is translated effectively into practical benefits for business and industry.

Our nationally impactful work is based above all on an active network of regional committees, which operates in close cooperation with regional chambers of commerce and higher education institutions.

Donations enable profitable investment activities

We are deeply grateful for every donation we receive. Donated funds form the foundation that enables us to manage our investments efficiently and, in turn, to distribute grants each year and grow the Fund’s real value.

The more donations we receive, the greater our ability to enhance societal well-being by supporting the advancement of education in business and economics.

In this century, we have, among other things, helped finance the renewal of business schools. Educational institutions have received a strong impetus for a new start—one in which the Foundation for Economic Education has played a very significant role.

Research benefits society

The Foundation will continue to remain true to its core mission. We fund top-tier research, the results of which help business leaders and owners make decisions that advance their operations. This requires, among other things, cooperation with other funds and foundations, as well as supporting an even broader and more diverse internationalisation.

We believe in the transformative power of researchers. When The Foundation for Economic Education stays true to its core mission and keeps a keen eye on emerging themes, we can give researchers the opportunity to identify new and compelling topics and perspectives that strengthen the growth of Finnish business and entrepreneurship.
